I don't know if this pattern is better for smaller sizes, but I made a size 26, and if I was a beginner sewist I would have frustrated. Luckily I caught all the issues with the pattern before cutting any fabric and was able to adjust it accordingly. First, the darts were not equal length, because I added length to one side of the dart, the waist band was no longer the right length, added a bit to the end of the piece and it worked well. Lastly the ties in the back were not the same size as the waist attached to the bodice piece, so I added more width to get it to match better, with a gradual curve to blend the pieces together. Overall, an easy fix, but it should not have been necessary. If you buy from this shop, make sure you can fold the paper pieces together or make a mockup.
